Actually, it refers to that only in the next cycle, can they receive a pay raise. Seeing as nobody took notice these last two years, it wasn't hard for them to get away with it.

My husband Joseph Marinaccio a veteran of the VietNam war, died on May 9,2008 from ALS, one and half years after being diagnosed. The VA suggested we place a claim and did so forwarding endless paperwork and requested documents; as of this date, I have not received any acknowlegement after many, many attempts and frustration. I feel his case has fallen on deaf ears or lost in space. His case number is 25-441-223
A reply would be appreciated.

For Medicare beneficiaries without extensive knowledge on insurance plans getting advice will be getting tougher and tougher.

Just days prior to the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) the Center for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) mandated a cut in compensation to independent advisors educated and certified to assist Medicare beneficiaries in their enrollment.

In yet another socialist policy by our government (agency)CMS felt independent financial advisors were paid to much to help Medicare Beneficiaries. However this did not apply to the biased insurance company employees - they will be compensated at about 10x the amount of independent advisors.
http://www.mysenioradvisorsgroup.com/

Medicare beneficiaries are strongly encouraged to contact their representative and tell them that advice on Medicare Advantage and Medicare Rx plans is important! That compensation should not be regulated; it will (and has) force independent Advisors out of the business and already has had an effect in 2008.

Contact your representative and/or Representatives: Stark,Grassley, Baucus, Hatch, Rockefeller. For additional comments and contact information on the topic see....

thank you it is good to hear someone else say it. Bush has extremely screwed things up for Americans. I also disagree with this Auto Bailout or maybe I just don't get, for one thing how is it increasing jobs in America, it may keep those people working at those companys working but millions of people have already lost their jobs and more to come. And will it really help because with all the loss of jobs will anyone be able to afford a new car so won't the Big3 still go broke. Why can't they file bankruptsy. And shouldn't any sort of bailout go towards helping put jobs back were they were lost and put all those who have lost jobs back to work. To me that makes more sense. But maybe I just don't see it the way I'm suppose to. And the stimulas package who does that help certainly not the people who need it last year if you did not make at least $3000.00 you wren't intitled to recive any money I don't know about anyone else but i would think in order for it to help anyone or anything it should have been given to those who made less and not those who did not need it. Yes I consider my self to be lower middle class I barely make ends meet I am a mother of the teenage kids and step-parent to 3 more teenagers so with 6 kids and bills and everyday necessary things I can barely afford to live. and last year I was working for myself so I didn't quit make the 3000.00 dollar mark I think I was short 25.00 so I didn't recieve any stimulas that was suppose to help. But A friend of mine who lets say will never have to worry about anything in their life time got that so called relief package and I think its still waiting to be spent. It seems to me that since Bush became President that the only people who are benefitting from all this are they people who are already have all the benefits they need. THE RICH GET RICHER AND THE POOR GET POORER!

Seniors don't change their drug plans for a few reasons. Mostly "Lack of knowledge" that they can! Your article should have "stressed" that the ONLY time they can change their drug plan is November 15th to December 31 of each year and the change would be effective Jan. 1st of the following year. Meaning if they change plans now it becomes effective Jan. 1st. 09. The other important point that Seniors need and should know is that before they just willy nilly change they should make sure the new drug plan covers all of their drugs. All Part D drug plans have a basic layout, but they do not cover the same drugs on the same tiers. Meaning for example, Lipitor could be on a tier 2 on one plan for a copay of 30.00 dollars, or it could be on a tier 3 on another plan for a copay of 70.00 dollars copay. This is a significant difference and over a year can cost them much more if they choose the wrong plan. The best way to check to see if your drugs are on a drug plan you think you want to change to is to do one of the following. Either have your agent/broker look up the drugs on the medicare or company web site. Or the Senior can go to www.medicare.gov and do a drug plan comparison by inputting your drugs and dosages. Or you can call a volunteer group that does this in your area. Check with AARP they may have a listing for your area. Good luck Happy thanksgiving, be thankful there is a drug plan. Prior to 2006 all Seniors had to pay for the entire price of all of their drugs.
