News you never heard about

I’M STUNNED. I HAVE NEVER HEARD, SEEN OR READ ANYTHING ABOUT THIS.
ISN’T IT WONDERFUL TO LIVE IN A COUNTRY WHERE THE MEDIA CONTROLS WHAT WE SHOULD KNOW?
| Why didn’t the press report this?????? Could it be because it has a picture of George W. Bush on it? It is located in Bayonne, N.J. (right across the river from the Statue of Liberty.)
This is the “TEAR DROP” made and installed by the Russians to honor those who died in 9 11 and a statement against terrorism. It is very impressive. The tear drop is lined up with the Statue of Liberty.
Gift from the people of Russia…….”Monument to the struggle against world terrorism, artist Zurab Tesereteii”
….it is an impressive memorial and statement against terrorism.
The walkway is made of stones.
Names of the persons killed on 9/11 are inscribed on the base. The base like the Vietnam Memorial wall. It was a cold and windy day but well worth the drive to see. It is down in the shipping yards across from “The Lady”. |

Why were the American people never told that Russia had presented us with such an AMAZING gesture of goodwill? I am furious to just be finding out about this now, as it appears this has been in place for some period of time. Many of us would have liked to express our thanks in a timely fashion to the people of Russia for such an incredibly touching memorial.
Seeing this has actually brought tears to my eyes. It is profoundly inspiring to know that Russia did this in the name of her people.

Summary of the eRumor:
A forwarded email with photos of a 100 foot structure and says that it is a gift to the US from the people of Russia. The email says that this is called “The Teardrop” and serves as a memorial to the lives lost in the World Trade Center attack of September 11th. The email goes on to ask why there was no press coverage.
The Truth:
According to a March 9, 2005 press advisory written by The Peninsula at Bayonne Harbor in New Jersey the “Teardrop” is a 100-foot September 11th memorial that was donated by the Russian people. Designed and created by Soviet artist Zurab Tsereteli, the Teardrop memorial was planned to sit on the waterfront at the Peninsula at Bayonne Harbor which was formerly the Military Ocean Terminal. The advisory said, “The monument will be placed in the northeast corner of the Peninsula in a not-yet-built two-acre park that will face the site of the World Trade Center.”
The memorial was dedicated on September 11, 2006 in a ceremony attended by former President Bill Clinton. Also in attendance were Michael Chertoff, the Bush Adminstration Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, and family members of World Trade Center victims. Recording artist Leann Rimes sang the National Anthem and Amazing Grace at the dedication ceremony.
Click for Bayonne Local Redevelopment Authority site.
Not much remains in the news archives of this memorial or the dedication ceremony. All that was discovered was the media advisory and a March 6, 2009 New York Times real estate section story about the development of rental units the Bayonne area which mentions the memorial as a place of interest in the article.

The press didn’t report it because Bush and Cheney didn’t attend it. They sent former president Bill Clinton to represent the U.S. So, forget your “liberal media” paranoia — the press didn’t censor it because of a picture of Bush; the press had no story to report because Bush wasn’t in the picture when the monument was dedicated. Big difference.

The media is controlled by the Bilderberg group and they only prefer that only fear-based articles be printed. Most people in this country think the media is free of influence, but it is not. There’s plenty that we don’t hear about. We only hear what this group decides we should hear. Google the the Bilderberg Group and find out. Jesse Ventura is doing a show now that exposes this group, among others.
